Characters from classic tales are born and live out their stories in the modern world. Along with those characters, there is a family line of storytellers that help the characters live out their fates. Kate Webley is the latest in her family line. Her first assignment goes horribly wrong, but it opens her eyes to the struggle of the characters. The characters are not supposed to be self-aware of their inevitable destinies, but they are and they want to live out their own lives.

 

CHARACTERS:

Kate Webley: The wallflower heroine who has inherited the title of storyteller. She truly embodies being a storyteller: her mind is constantly racing with observation of the people and environment around her and blends in the background. She’s not really sure how to go about being the storyteller, but she’s determined to live up to the title. On most days, she’s an English teacher that loves books and a very harsh critic about the movie adaptations.

Corinne de Beaumont: Out of the five de Beaumont children, she is seen as the perfect person. She’s caring, intelligent, and independent. Her father favors her while her sisters resent her. As a florist, she just wants to live a peaceful life with flowers. She just loves the subtle messages of flowers and how stubborn they can be in order to bloom.

Robin Fitzooth: The second illegitimate son of a rich IT CEO. He has no interest in running the business, but he supports his older sister, the only legitimate heir, to inherit. Unfortunately, his older brother has usurp power and made himself CEO. Robin wouldn’t mind it if his brother didn’t use unfair business practices. Now he’s determined to see the rightful heir as CEO of his father’s company.

Vivienne Wentworth: A cynical, but successful ballet choreographer. She was a dancer herself, but the dance world isn’t all that dazzling. There is a sinister side that forced her to leave. She is the eldest sister of twelve, which is a role she takes very serious and it bleeds into all of her relationship. She just needs to support and push people to do their best. Not even the dark side of dance world will stop her.

Rune Hall: A self-made billionaire with a tragic past. He rises above the mistreatment from his mother to make a name and company of his own. However, it left a twisted desire within him; he loves seeing people being broken. Whenever he is bored, he marries a woman to feel a high level adrenaline. He married and broken six women. And still no one suspect him of anything wrong. Or if  they do, they can’t touch him.

Beck Hallward: A kind soul that lives a quiet life as an art teacher with some commissions on the side. His emotions and fancies are his primary muse. But when he is abused by his friends one final time, he closes off his heart. His artistic mind suffers from his closed heart. He wants to create another masterpiece, but if that involves trusting and loving again, then maybe it’s not for him.

John Sacker: A doctor who has seen death far too often during his off hours. Or at least he believes death is what separated him from his loved ones. He saw his best friend die a death that no one could survive, yet no body was found. His lovely wife was pregnant when she went missing. He doesn’t know what happened, but the inner detective in himself is determined solve the mystery.
